Ericsson provides network upgrade in Malaysia

Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on Thursday (18 March) that it had been selected by the Malaysian mobile communications provider DiGi Telecommunications as a network infrastructure provider for its network upgrade to EDGE.
Under the agreement, Ericsson would supply the necessary EDGE network infrastructure and equipment, including the upgrade of associated core network and supply of radio access equipment for the activation of EDGE.
No financial information was provided.
DiGi is a subsidiary of the Norwegian telecomms group Telenor ASA.
