Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia said on Monday (22 March) that the South Korean telecomms solutions provider LG Electronics had signed a licensing agreement for the Series 60 Platform.
LG Electronics would license the Series 60 Platform as source code, which enables licensees to further develop and differentiate the software for Series 60-based products while maintaining the underlying application interoperability.
Series 60, licensed by Nokia to mobile device manufacturers, is a mobile device software platform for advanced smart phones optimized for the Symbian operating system (OS).
