NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-12 May 2004-Saab cuts 39 jobs in Linkoping, Sweden(C)1994-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
The Swedish defence and aerospace group Saab said on Wednesday (12 May) that it had completed the redundancy talks at its site in Linkoping, Sweden and that it had been agreed to reduce the number of employees by 39.
A total of 18 of the affected employees will be offered retirement pension.
The cut-backs affect blue-collar employees at the business units Saab Aerosystems, Saab Aerostructures and Saab Support.
"The main reason for the move is that Saab has made organisational and structural changes, which have led to a reduced requirement primarily for production and support functions," Saab said.
Saab originally gave notice to 60 persons.
