Norwegian telecomms operator Telenor ASA reported on Wednesday (27 October) an operating profit of NOK7.6bn on revenues of NOK45.6bn for the financial period January-September 2004.
Both operating profit and revenues for the nine-month period increased, respectively from NOK5.4bn and NOK39.3bn, as compared to the corresponding period in 2003.
Operating profit for the period July-September 2004 amounted to NOK2.6bn on revenues of NOK15.7bn.
In the third quarter 2004 Telenor Mobil-Norway increased the number of GSM subscriptions by 114,000, and had an estimated market share of 56% in Norway in terms of the number of subscriptions.
In total the number of mobile subscriptions in Telenor's wholly and partly owned companies increased to 45.2 million at the end of the third quarter of 2004.
In Mobile, operating profit (EBITDA) increased by NOK811m to NOK3.4bn in the third quarter of 2004, as compared to the same period last year.
One Norwegian krone (NOK) is worth approximately 0.08 British pounds (GBP).
