The Swedish fingerprint authentication technology developer Precise Biometrics AB said on Wednesday (1 September) that it had received an order for combined fingerprint and smart card readers for a project in the Middle East.
The order was received in cooperation with a global unnamed information technology company and its local representatives.
The objective of the project would be to increase the security of the customer's IT environment through smart ID cards and multi-factor authentication, according to the company.
Part of the order would be delivered during the third quarter and the remainder during the fourth quarter 2004.
The order was valued at SEK2.8m.
One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.07 British pounds (GBP).
