Finnish mobile software company Smartner Information Systems has reportedly been bought by the US software company Seven Networks.
"The motive behind the purchase was to make it to number one in mobile phone e-mail software," Paul Hedman, CEO of Smartner, was quoted as saying.
The biggest player in the field is reportedly Canadian company Research In Motion (RIM), maker of the BlackBerry telecomms device.
The value of the deal was not disclosed, reported the Finnish news agency STT.
