The Swedish-controlled international newspaper publisher Metro International SA said on Wednesday (13 April) that it would establish a new subsidiary, Metro Modern Media.
The new company will operate all of the group's online activities, including Metro Market, a new classified advertising site for consumers. The first Metro Market site went online on Wednesday.
Metro Modern Media will also develop and launch different online products and services, such as dating and music downloads. The new services will initially be launched in the Nordic countries and in the Netherlands, but will subsequently also be extended to all of Metro's 17 operating countries.
