Ericsson to deliver network upgrade in Belgium

Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on Wednesday (24 August) that it had been awarded a contract by Belgian operator BASE n.v./s.a. for the upgrade of its existing radio access network with EDGE technology.
Under the agreement Ericsson would deliver all hardware, software and related services, such as implementation, project management, support, testing and training.
Ericsson would be the sole supplier for the nationwide upgrade, the company said.
The contract has a total value of some USD37m.
One US dollar (USD) is worth approximately 0.55 British pounds (GBP).
