NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-16 December 2005-Metro International S.A. reports increased readership(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
The Swedish-controlled international newspaper group Metro International S.A. said on Friday (16 December) that it had increased its global daily readership by 22% year-on-year to 18.5 million.
The increase of 3.3 million new daily readers reflects both increased readership in existing Metro cities (up 2.3 million) and the geographical expansion of Metro into new markets (adding 1 million).
Since December 2004 Metro has added 19 new editions, growing the total number of editions to 59 in 19 countries.
The figures were reported in the TNS Worldwide Readership Survey, the company said.
