Finnish ship power supplier and decentralized power generation systems provider Wartsila Corporation said on Tuesday (1 February) that it had signed a USD4.0m contract to deliver two generating sets to a new power plant for the Nome Joint Utility System in Nome, Alaska.
The current power plant would be replaced with two Wartsila 12V32 generating sets with a combined output of 10.4 MW, according to the company.
The new Snake River plant would run on light fuel oil and was expected to be commissioned in late 2005.
One US dollar (USD) is worth approximately 0.53 British pounds (GBP).
