Nokia signs licensing agreement with Macromedia

Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia said on Friday (11 February) that it had signed a licensing agreement with the US software company Macromedia to integrate Macromedia Flash technology into the Series 60 Platform.
Under the agreement Series 60 would become a reference platform for Macromedia's mobile Flash technology, and Macromedia would implement new versions of its mobile Flash technology on Series 60.
Nokia had also agreed to support Flash in its other software platforms.
As part of the collaboration Macromedia and Nokia would also provide integrated mobile development tool sets that would enable developers to more rapidly and efficiently create Flash content for mobile devices.
In addition the companies would also collaborate on technical documentation and other technical support areas.
