Kemira Oyj to acquire Finnish Chemicals Oy

Finnish chemical industry group Kemira Oyj said on Monday (7 February) that it would acquire all shares in Finnish Chemicals Oy from Erikem Luxembourg S.A., controlled by international investors led by PPM Ventures, Montagu Private Equity and MB Funds.

The main products of Finnish Chemicals are sodium chlorate, sodium hydroxide, chlorine oxide and sodiumborohydride, and the company has net sales of nearly EUR250m, according to Kemira.

Kemira said that the acquisition was in line with its business strategy to develop all of its four core business areas equally.

The acquisition price was not disclosed.

One euro (EUR) is worth approximately 0.70 British pounds (GBP).
