Finnish media group Alma Media Corporation announced on Thursday (13 January) that it had been informed by the Swedish investment company Proventus Industrier AB and the media group Bonnier & Bonnier AB that no agreement or other relationship exists between the companies that could give rise to a redemption obligation.
The board of the company was monitoring the situation continuously and would take any measures necessary should the information at its disposal or conditions change, Alma Media said.
The announcement was a response to the questions and opinions expressed in public concerning Bonnier & Bonnier AB and Proventus Industrier AB's holdings in Alma Media Corporation, according to the company.
According to media reports, the Swedish stock exchange Stockholmsborsen and Finland's Helsinki Exchanges were investigating whether the companies had entered into a cooperation agreement.
