The Norwegian engineering, construction and technology group Aker Kvaerner ASA said on Wednesday (5 January) that its subsidiary Kvaerner Power had secured new orders for a total of EUR75m.
Weyerhaeuser Co awarded a contract for a recovery boiler for its Grande Prairie pulp mill in Alberta, Canada.
An unnamed US customer awarded a contract for a power boiler using circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology.
Billerud AB awarded a contract for three power boiler conversions to its pulp and paper mills in Gruvon, Karlsborg and Skarblacka in Sweden.
Kvaerner Power also received an order for an evaporation plant upgrade for Smurfit Munksjo's Aspa mill in Sweden, as well as an order for a concentrator rebuild from Rottneros AB's Vallvik mill.
One euro (EUR) is worth approximately 0.70 British pounds (GBP).
