The Swedish IT group WM-data announced on Tuesday (28 June) that its acquisition of Atos Origin's operations in Sweden and Norway had been approved by the relevant competition authorities.

The acquisition is estimated to be completed on 7 July.

WM-data said in May that it had agreed to acquire the global management consulting and IT services group Atos Origin's operations in Sweden and Norway in a SEK1.33bn deal.

The integration of the acquired operations into WM-data's existing business is expected to result in synergy gains of approximately SEK100m in addition to contributing to the turnover by some SEK1.6bn.

One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.07 British pounds (GBP).
