NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-1 March 2005-Saab to cut 80 jobs in Sweden(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

The Swedish defence and aerospace group Saab said on Tuesday (1 March) that its subsidiary Saab Training Systems was giving notice to 80 people at the operation in Huskvarna, Sweden.

Due to the sharp fall in the value of the US dollar, Saab Training Systems was forced to reduce its cost mass in order to remain competitive, the company said.

Several customers had also devoted extensive resources to live military efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, resulting in fewer available resources for training, Saab added.

The company said that personnel in all categories would be affected by the action.
