Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia announced on Wednesday (9 March) that it had signed a contract with the German mobile operator O2 (Germany) GmbH & Co. OHG, a subsidiary of mmO2 plc, to launch a complete mobile music experience under the O2 Germany brand.
The solution would be powered by the US digital media solutions provider Loudeye Corporation.

O2 Germany's mobile music experience would allow users to browse, search, listen to and download full-length songs to their mobile device based on the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Digital Rights Management specifications.
Music purchases would be billed directly to a user's existing O2 Germany monthly statement.
Customers can also use their personal computer to access the O2 music shop via the Internet and download songs to their PC.
