Norwegian telecomms operator Telenor ASA said on Thursday (26 May) that it was offering its mobile subscribers in the consumer market price reductions worth an estimated NOK200m.
In addition to a 50% reduction on domestic mobile rates 12 hours a day on weekdays, and 24 hours a day during the weekends, Telenor is also offering a number of other mobile services at reduced rates in the summer months.
Telenor said that during the summer months close to 500,000 Norwegians were likely to exchange their old mobile handsets for new models.

In the months of June, July and August alone, Telenor Mobil anticipates that customers would register more than 1.5 billion mobile voice minutes, and send close to 600 million text messages and 15 million MMS messages.
One Norwegian krone (NOK) is worth approximately 0.08 British pounds (GBP).
