NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-14 November 2005-Saab Avitronics cuts 59 jobs(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

The Swedish defence and aerospace group Saab said on Friday (11 November) that its business unit Saab Avitronics had decided to cut a total of 59 employees, mainly within production, production support and product development.

The cutbacks affect 45 employees at Saab Avitronics' unit in Jonkoping and 14 at a unit in Gothenburg.

"The primary reasons are fewer orders from the Swedish Armed Forces, as well as technology shifts and streamlining in production," said Ronny Nyqvist, head of Utility and Mission Systems at Saab Avitronics.
