The Norwegian dairy products group TINE BA issued on Monday (21 November) its reply to the Norwegian competition authority Konkurransetilsynet's allegations, made earlier this year, that TINE had abused its dominant position in the Norwegian market in connection with negotiations with the retail chains REMA 1000 and ICA in 2004.
In its reply TINE said that Konkurransetilsynet had misinterpreted both the alleged evidence as well as the relevant laws.
TINE said that it did not see any reasons for action against the company and that Konkurransetilsynet had no evidence of any breaches.
Konkurransetilsynet has threatened TINE with a fine amounting to NOK45m.
