The German technology group Siemens' Danish wind turbines manufacturing unit (formerly Bonus Energy) has reportedly secured one of the world's largest wind turbine orders.

The order, placed by US company PFL Energy, covers between 195 and 260 wind turbines, and is worth in excess of DKK3bn, according to the Danish broadcasting corporation DR.

The order means that Siemens Power Generation's units in Brande and Aalborg in Denmark will increase their number of employees from the current 200 to a total of 450.

One Danish krone (DKK) is worth approximately 0.09 British pounds (GBP).
