Ericsson signs managed services contract with Sonaecom

Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on Wednesday (7 September) that it had signed a five-year managed services contract with the Portuguese telecomms group Sonaecom.
The contract includes field operations for the multi-vendor infrastructure networks of Sonaecom's mobile and fixed brands, Optimus and Novis.
Under the agreement Ericsson would provide day-to-day field operation for the Optimus 2G/3G network and Novis' fixed network in Portugal.
This would enable Sonaecom to focus on its growth strategy and efficiently evolve its networks for future technologies, according to Ericsson.
