Swedish telecommunications solutions provider Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) said on Wednesday (6 December) that it has launched a trial of personalised mobile TV advertising in Norway.
The trial will be undertaken in cooperation with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) and the advertising partner Proximity Oslo, part of the global BBDO network.
During the two-month public trial volunteers will be able to access NRK's two television channels and five of its radio channels on their mobile handsets. The advertisements will be interactive and tailored to the user's age, gender, location and personal interests.
Ericsson is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Its equipment is used in more than 1,000 networks in 140 countries, and 40% of the world's mobile calls are made through Ericsson systems. The company is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm, and its shares are also traded on the London Stock Exchange and on Nasdaq.
