Swedish high-technology company Saab said on Wednesday (19 July) that its business unit Saab Aerotech had signed an agreement with the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) for the upgrade of two S100D (Saab 340AEW-200) aircraft to a new international inter-operational standard.

The aircraft are currently operated by the Swedish Armed Forces.

The AEW aircraft would be used for territorial integrity monitoring within Sweden as well as for air and sea surveillance in support of international operations.

The order was valued at SEK105m.

One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.07 British pounds (GBP).
