Ericsson to build HSPA-enabled 3G network in Saudi Arabia

Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson said on Tuesday (13 June) that the Saudi Arabian operator Mobily had selected Ericsson to build its HSPA-enabled 3G network and to deliver a major expansion of its existing GSM network.

Under the agreement Ericsson will deliver equipment and services to build Mobily's 3G network with full HSPA functionality.

The expansion of Mobily's existing GSM network includes Ericsson's Mobile Softswitch solution, radio, transmission and core equipment.
