Swedish industrial holding company Investor AB announced on Tuesday (7 November) that it has increased its holding in the truck and bus manufacturer Scania.

Investor increased its stake from 19.3% of the votes and 10.8% of the capital to 20.01% of the votes and 11% of the capital.

"We have increased our stake in Scania to mark our continued belief in the company's strong prospects and our commitment to find the best industrial solution for Scania, in the interest of all its shareholders, in the context of the discussions around potential combinations," commented Borje Ekholm, CEO of Scania.

Scania is currently the object of a takeover attempt by German vehicles maker MAN AG.

Investor, based in Stockholm, Sweden, is the Nordic region's leading industrial holding company and the leading shareholder in a number of multinational companies, including Ericsson, SEB and Atlas Copco. The company also conducts private equity activities in the United States, Northern Europe and Asia. Investor is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.
