The Finnish engineering and technology group Metso Corporation said on Friday (20 October) that its paper technology business, Metso Paper, has won a new order in China.
Metso Paper is to supply a complete three-ply linerboard machine to Zhejiang JiAn Paper Packet Co Ltd in Haiyan, Zhejiang province. The new machine will have an annual capacity of about 450,000 tonnes and is expected to start operating in 2007.
Metso said that its new local unit in China, Metso Paper Technology (Shanghai) Co Ltd, would play a key role in the delivery.
The value of the order has not been revealed, but Metso noted that similar board machine orders are worth around EUR40m.
Metso has 22,000 employees in more than 50 countries and the group reported net sales of approximately EUR4.2bn in 2005.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.48 euros (EUR).
