The Swedish electronic store labels and information systems provider Pricer AB said on Friday (8 September) that it has secured a framework contract for electronic shelf label systems from the Metro Cash & Carry retail chain in Germany.
The contract, estimated to be worth approximately SEK75m over the three-year period, involves upgrading Metro Cash & Carry's German stores to the new generation of Pricer's ESL systems.
"After successfully implementing the Pricer PromoLine system in the late 90's, Metro is leading again by being the first retailer to migrate its installed base to our next generation ESL and infrastructure technology," commented Jan Forssjo, President and CEO of Pricer.
A first order, valued at SEK20m, has already been placed.
One Swedish krona (SEK) is worth approximately 0.07 British pounds (GBP).
