Swedish store displays maker HL Display AB is reportedly planning to transfer part of the operations at its production facility in Falun, Sweden to its sites abroad.

According to the online edition of the Swedish regional newspaper Dala-Demokraten, the reorganisation is expected to cut half of the current 80 jobs at the Falun plant.

HL Display's COO and deputy CEO Kent Herzell confirmed to the newspaper that the company intends to "make changes" and that employees will be informed on Friday (13 April).

HL Display's Falun facility specialises in screenprinting, vacuum moulding and the hot- and cold-bending of plastics.

HL Display, headquartered in Skarpnack, Sweden, has some 950 employees and achieved sales of SEK1.4bn in 2006. In addition to operations in Sweden, HL Display has also manufacturing facilities in the UK, China and the US, as well as sales companies in 29 countries worldwide. HL Display is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 13.71 Swedish kronor (SEK).
