Frontline Ltd exercises option to order two new Suezmax vessels

Norwegian-controlled Bermuda-based tanker shipping group Frontline Ltd said on Tuesday (17 April) that it has exercised its option for two additional Suezmax newbuilding contracts at Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries Group Co Ltd in China.

The new 156,000 vessels are scheduled for delivery in October and December of 2010.

Including the two newest contracts, Frontline has a total of eight Suezmax and four VLCC vessels on order.

Frontline is headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda. The company has a fleet of 36 Suezmax tankers and 46 VLCC tankers, totalling 19.3m dwt. The company is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and traded under the symbol FRO.
