Finnish forest industry group M-real Corporation, part of Metsaliitto Group, reported on Tuesday (24 April) an operating profit of EUR104m on sales of EUR1,432m for the financial period January-March 2007.
Operating profit for the three-month period increased from EUR35m, while sales decreased from EUR1,441m, as compared to the corresponding period in 2006.
Earnings per share (EPS) in the first quarter amounted to EUR0.16, up from EUR0.01.
M-real Corporation, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is a leading European paper company with products for consumer packaging, communications and advertising. M-real generated a turnover of EUR5.6bn in 2006 and has 15,500 employees. The company is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.47 euros (EUR).
