Swedish pharmaceutical company Meda AB said on Friday (27 April) that it has agreed to acquire a portfolio of 10 well-established pharmaceutical products from US group Wyeth.
The purchase price is approximately SEK525m.
The product portfolio will strengthen Meda's position on key European markets, especially Italy and France, and will boost sales for 2007 by SEK160-170m.
Then portfolio includes the anti-anxiety and tranquillising agents Seresta, Serpax, Serenal, Praxiten and Loramet, the cancer and MS drugs Novantrone, Elsep and Ralenova, and the sleep disorder products Sonata and Zerene.
Meda, headquartered in Solna, Sweden, is a speciality pharma company focusing on marketing and market-adapted product development. The company has 1,000 employees in 24 countries. Meda is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 13.55 Swedish kronor (SEK).
