Swedish high-tech company Sectra AB said on Tuesday (28 August) that it has landed a five-year service contract from the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC).

Under the agreement Sectra will provide systems for managing digital X-ray pictures (PACS) and support services to five emergency hospitals on Manhattan.

"The New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation represents the largest and one of the most prolific integrated healthcare systems in the country," said John Goble, president of Sectra North America.

"We consider this direct relationship with HHC as recognition of Sectra's commitment to innovation and industry leading service in the PACS industry," Goble added.

No financial details were disclosed.

Sectra, headquartered in Linkoping, Sweden, develops and sells medical systems and secure communication systems. The company has operations in eleven countries, and reported sales of SEK673m in the financial year 2006/2007. Sectra is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 13.84 Swedish kronor (SEK).
