Finnish engineering and technology group Metso Corporation said on Thursday (27 December) that its subsidiary Metso Automation will supply an automation solution to Shouguang Chenming Art Paper's PM 5 coated art paper production line in the city of Shouguang in China's Shandong Province.
The Metso Automation scope of supply includes replacement of machine controls on the paper machine and machine and process controls for the off-machine coater and the supercalender.
Machine controls for the rereeler and reel carriers are also incorporated.
The automation project managed by Metso Automation includes also a complete set of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic field devices with related engineering.
The value of the automation order is close to EUR10m.
Shouguang Chenming is part of Shandong Chenming Holding Ltd, one of China's largest paper producers with an annual production capacity of 3.5 million tonnes.
Metso, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, has 25,000 employees in more than 50 countries and reported net sales of EUR4.96bn in 2006. Metso is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.38 euros (EUR).
