Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERIC) said on Monday (12 February) that it has been selected by Belgian operator Mobistar, a member of the France Telecom group, for a managed services cooperation.
Once implemented the agreement will enable Mobistar to lower operational expenses and focus on further improving its position in the Belgian telecommunications market.
Ericsson will provide network performance to Mobistar customers. As part of the agreement about 150 employees are to be transferred from Mobistar to Ericsson.

The five-year agreement is expected to be in commercial operation from the second quarter of 2007 and has a value of approximately EUR300m.
Ericsson is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Its equipment is used in more than 1,000 networks in 140 countries, and 40% of the world's mobile calls are made through Ericsson systems. The company is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm, and its shares are also traded on the London Stock Exchange and on Nasdaq.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.49 euros (EUR).
