Finland's Elisa Corporation to pilot Nokia's new N-Gage mobile gaming service

Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia (NYSE: NOK) said on Tuesday (27 February) that the Finnish telecomms operator Elisa Corporation will carry out a pilot of Nokia's new N-Gage mobile gaming service.
The pilot will start in February 2007 and run until the middle of the year.
Elisa will combine its existing mobile gaming platform with the Nokia N-Gage gaming platform and carry out intensive testing and evaluation in a live network environment.
Nokia said that its next generation mobile gaming platform makes it easy for people to find, buy, play and share rich and immersive games on a range of Nokia devices. The new platform is scheduled for launch in mid-2007.
Elisa intends to support the launch with a full service offering through its own portals in addition to the N-Gage application installed on Nokia devices.
Nokia, headquartered in Espoo in Finland, is a global mobile phone and network equipment manufacturer. It has nearly 59,000 employees worldwide. Nokia is listed on the Helsinki, Stockholm, Frankfurt and New York stock exchanges.
Elisa Corporation, headquartered in Helsinki, is a Finnish telecomms company that offers private and corporate customers a comprehensive range of telecomms services. The company has some 3,600 employees and is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.
