Sweden's Sectra AB wins order for mammography systems

Swedish high-tech company Sectra AB said on Thursday (5 July) that the Varmland county council in Sweden is focusing on expanding the digitalisation of its mammography operations and is investing in mammography systems with the market's lowest radiation dose, Sectra MicroDose Mammography.

The county council has used Sectra MicroDose Mammography since 2006 and is now expanding its focus on digital mammography, the company added.

With the new equipment in place, the council expects a substantial increase in the number of women who can be called for mammography screening each year.

No financial information was provided.

Sectra, headquartered in Linkoping, Sweden, develops and sells medical systems and secure communication systems. The company has operations in 11 countries, and reported sales of SEK673m in the financial year 2006/2007. Sectra is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 13.70 Swedish kronor (SEK).
