Finnish media group SanomaWSOY Corporation Oyj said on Monday (9 July) that it has agreed to acquire all shares in the Polish educational publishing company Nowa Era Sp. z o.o.

Nowa Era offers a wide range of educational materials in all subjects for both primary and secondary educational levels. The company reported pro forma consolidated net sales of some EUR34m in 2006 and employs 430 persons.

After the acquisition, Nowa Era group will be consolidated with SanomaWSOY Education.

The acquisition price was not disclosed.

SanomaWSOY is the leading media group in the Nordic region and operates in over 20 European countries. The company has 17,000 employees. SanomaWSOY is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.48 euros (EUR).
