Norwegian telecomms group Telenor ASA (NASDAQ: TELN) said on Friday (15 June) that it is launching a new mobile broadband solution in Norway.

The solution, Mobile Broadband from Telenor, will make it simple, fast and inexpensive for customers to use their PCs to surf the Internet when they are away from home, the company claimed.

For NOK249 per month, users can surf unlimited in the evenings after 17:00 and all through the weekend. In addition, as a special introductory offer, until the end of August users will be able to surf all day without any charge.

Telenor is one of the world's largest mobile operators, with nearly 83m subscribers in 12 countries. The group is also the largest provider of television services in the Nordic region. Telenor has some 27,600 employees and annual revenues of nearly NOK70bn. Telenor is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange under the ticker TEL and on Nasdaq under the ticker TELN.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 11.93 Norwegian kroner (NOK).
