Nokia selected as GSM/EDGE core and radio network supplier in Slovenia

Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia (NYSE: NOK) said on Thursday (8 March) that it has been selected by the Slovenian greenfield operator Tusmobil as the operator's GSM/EDGE core and radio network supplier.

Nokia will supply Tusmobil with GSM/EDGE radio and core network infrastructure and will also operate the Tusmobil network, allowing the operator to focus its management activities on building the Tusmobil image, mobile services creation, and customer acquisition.

In providing managed services, Nokia will take responsibility for the operation and maintenance as well as customisation of Tusmobil's network.

Nokia will also integrate a value added services platform into Tusmobil's network, and provide care and training services from its service solutions portfolio.

The network will be supported by the Nokia NetAct network and service management system.

Nokia, headquartered in Espoo in Finland, is a global mobile phone and network equipment manufacturer. It has nearly 59,000 employees worldwide. Nokia is listed on the Helsinki, Stockholm, Frankfurt and New York stock exchanges.
