Finnish chemicals group Kemira Oyj reported on Wednesday (2 May) an operating profit of EUR48.9m on revenue of EUR673.3m for the financial period January-March 2007.
Both operating profit and revenue for the three-month period increased, respectively from EUR45.5m and EUR552.9m, as compared to the corresponding period in 2006.
Earnings per share (EPS) in the first quarter amounted to EUR0.22, up by 5% year-on-year.
Kemira said that it expects its full-year revenue, operating profit and earnings per share to improve from the 2006 levels.
Kemira Oyj, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, is a chemicals group that operates in 40 countries. In 2006 Kemira recorded revenue of EUR2.52bn and it has some 8,000 employees. The company is listed on the Nordic Exchange in Helsinki.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.47 euros (EUR).
