Saab Aircraft Leasing, a US-based subsidiary of the Swedish defence and aerospace group Saab, said on Monday (19 November) that the Argentine Air Force has made a formal decision to buy four Saab 340B aircraft.

The agreement includes a five-year logistic support package, and is valued at USD34m.

The aircraft will be delivered during 2008 and 2009, and will be used to serve remote areas in the Patagonia region in southern Argentina.

Saab Aircraft Leasing won the contract in cooperation with Saab Group's integrated support solutions supplier Saab Aerotech.

Saab, headquartered in Linkoping in Sweden, is a high-tech company active within defence, aviation and space. The company has 13,600 employees and annual sales of EUR2.3bn. Saab is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.
