Swedish high-tech company Micronic Laser Systems AB said on Tuesday (30 October) that it has received an order for an advanced Omega series laser pattern generator from an unnamed customer in Asia.
The system, to be delivered in December, will be used for semiconductor applications.
"This order demonstrates the value of Omega systems for volume production, as it comes from a customer with multiple systems already installed," commented Sven Lofquist, president and CEO of Micronic.
The value of the order was not disclosed.
Micronic Laser Systems, headquartered in Taby, Sweden, develops and manufactures laser pattern generators for the production of photomasks. In addition to operations in Sweden, the company has subsidiaries in the US, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. Micronic Laser Systems is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm.
