Aker Kvaerner ASA lands NOK260m umbilicals contract for Statoil's Gjoa field

Norwegian engineering, construction and technology group Aker Kvaerner ASA said on Monday (24 September) that it has landed a NOK260m umbilicals order from the Norwegian oil company Statoil ASA.

The order covers the manufacture and supply of some 16 kilometres of steel tube umbilical control cables for Statoil's Gjoa field in the North Sea. The umbilicals will connect the Gjoa semi-submersible platform, currently under construction by Aker Kvaerner, to the Gjoa subsea production system, and the Gjoa field to the nearby Vega field.

The umbilicals will be manufactured at Aker Kvaerner Subsea in Moss, Norway.

Aker Kvaerner, headquartered in Lysaker, Norway, has 23,000 employees in over 30 countries. The company is 40.1% owned by Norwegian industrial holding group Aker ASA. Aker Kvaerner is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and traded under the ticker AKVER.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 11.17 Norwegian kroner (NOK).
