Norwegian engineering, construction and technology group Aker Kvaerner ASA said on Tuesday (1 April) that it has secured a USD50m drilling riser order from an undisclosed customer.
The order covers a complete deep-water marine drilling riser system with buoyancy package and associated equipment. The drilling riser system will be manufactured at Aker Kvaerner's subsea manufacturing centre in Malaysia, while the buoyancy modules will be supplied by Aker Kvaerner's 50%-owned associated company Phoenix Polymers International.
The customer has at the same time also ordered an additional buoyancy package for a drilling riser system delivered by Aker Kvaerner in 2007.
Delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2008.
Aker Kvaerner, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, is a leading global provider of engineering and construction services, technology products and integrated solutions.
