The Latvian airline Air Baltic is reportedly opening a new route between Kuopio, in eastern Finland, and the Latvian capital of Riga.
The route will be flown by a 50-seater Fokker plane, at least in the beginning, the company reportedly said in a statement.
The state of Latvia owns 52.6% of Air Baltic Corporation shares and SAS owns 47.2%. In 2007 the airline carried over 2m passengers, reported the Finnish news agency STT.
