Norwegian antenna and power systems developer Comrod Communication ASA said on Wednesday (2 April) that its wholly-owned subsidiary Comrod AS has secured a USD1m order from the US radio manufacturer Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS).
The order covers battery chargers for the military field radio Harris RF-7800S Secure Personal Radio.
"We see this contract as a breakthrough for our business area Power Supply in the US market and it represents an important first step in establishing a wider customer base for our Power supply products," said Eirik S Larsen, CEO of Comrod Communication.
Comrod Communication, headquartered in Tau outside Stavanger, Norway, sells and distributes its products primarily on the defence market. The company has 200 employees in Norway and France and reported sales of NOK290m in 2007. Comrod Communication is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and traded under the ticker COMROD.
