NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-23 April 2008-Nokia Siemens Network to guarantee information security for China Netcom(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
Finnish telecomms infrastructure company Nokia Siemens Networks said on Wednesday (23 April) that it has been contracted by the Chinese fixed-line telecomms services provider China Netcom to guarantee information security for its data communication network (DCN) covering 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions of China.
Nokia Siemens Networks has built a complete information security management system for China Netcom covering assessment, consulting, design, systems integration and project management.
The comprehensive portfolio of solutions will reduce potential losses caused by information security risks, support the stable development of China Netcom's services and will thus reduce operational expenditures (OPEX), the company said.
With the long term goal of creating a world class information security practice, the security value assessment system will enable China Netcom to monitor and improve all aspects of information security continually.
Nokia Siemens Networks, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is an international telecomms infrastructure company with operations in some 150 countries worldwide and pro-forma revenues of EUR17.1bn. The company is owned by the Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia (NYSE:NOK) and the German electrical engineering and electronics company Siemens.
