Danish engineering, consulting and operating services group Ramboll Gruppen A/S (Ramboll Group) announced on Friday (4 April) that it has agreed to acquire the Indian engineering company IMIsoft.
IMIsoft, based in Hyderabad, specialises in the design of mobile towers, software development and mobile networks surveillance. The company has over 650 employees and offices in some 20 cities in India.
The acquisition will make Ramboll Group's telecomm business Ramboll Telecom the world's largest group in the design of telecommunication constructions with a total of some 850 employees.
The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed, but Ramboll Group said that it is carrying out the deal with the Danish Industrial Fund for Developing Countries (IFU) as co-investor.
Ramboll Group, headquartered in Virum, Denmark, is a leading consulting group with 7,500 employees in nearly 160 offices in mainly the Nordic countries and the UK. The group reported revenue of USD967m in 2007. Ramboll Group is owned by the Ramboll Foundation (95%) and by employee shareholders.
One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 2.00 US dollars (USD).
