Norwegian Internet browsers developer Opera Software ASA (OSE: OPERA) announced on Friday (8 August) that the mobile operator O2 Germany has selected the Opera Mini browser for a number of handsets in its Internet-to-Go initiative.

The Opera Mini browser will be available on several Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Nokia handsets as either pre-installed or over-the-air versions.

Opera Mini will be O2-branded featuring a customised skin and pre-set bookmarks.

The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.

Opera Software, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, develops the cross-platform Opera web browser for PCs, mobile phones and other networked devices. The company has some 460 employees and reported revenue of NOK315.5m in 2007.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 10.16 Norwegian kroner (NOK).
